Primary Rugby League opened up in London in grand style at The Garrison on Saturday 26 April 2014. Teams travelled from all over London & The South –Hemel, Southend, Hackney, Maidstone, Brighton – and three teams from Grans XIII Piranha’s who travelled over from Marseille in the South of France to add international flavour and spice to the competition.

The Festival was attended by Martyn Rothwell, the national Primary Rugby League Manager from the RFL who ran a massive, all Under 7’s session and then delivered a Primary Activators course for the Region.

Dragons Head Coach Martin Coyd said ‘There was some fantastic football played today, especially if you consider it was the first games of the season. The French teams were wonderful and played a distinctively different style to us and enthralled the watching crowds’

‘This is a great start to the London Primary RL Season and sets us well for a great summer for all the kids. Richmond is the next Festival and we will travel in big numbers to West London and build upon what we did today’
